Common Questions

Pricing & process

How is an electrical quote calculated?

Most quotes come from the scope of the job (which circuits, how much access is needed) plus permit and inspection fees where they apply. Diagnostic and repair calls are usually priced from a service call fee plus time once the cause is found; larger jobs like panel upgrades or rewiring get a firm, written price after a walkthrough.

Do you charge a service call fee?

Yes, most repair and diagnostic visits start with a service call fee that covers the visit and diagnosis; it typically applies toward the repair if you move forward. Ask for the exact number when you book.

Do I need a permit for this work?

Panel upgrades, rewiring, new circuits, and generator installs almost always need a permit; smaller repairs like replacing a switch or outlet usually don’t. We tell you upfront whether your specific job needs one, and we pull it ourselves rather than skip it.

Will the power be off during the work?

Only on the circuits being worked on, whenever that’s possible. A panel upgrade or full rewire does require the main power off for part of the job; we schedule that window with you in advance rather than surprise you with it.
